In an exclusive interview with FOX 5 News, Founder and motorcyclist Michael Ejiawoko speaks on the functionality and features of LitGear, which uses Bluetooth and LED lights to sync with each other:
“I push [a remote button] once, I push it again and it goes to a pairing mode. It’ll signal and brake at the same time. There’s a brain that we installed on the bike. There’s also a brain inside the jacket and they just communicate with each other wirelessly.”
When discussing his motive behind creating the product, Michael shares, “I was thinking, ‘What can I do to make [motorcyclists] more visible, but at the same time, look cool?”
Safety, visibility, and style are all words LitGear lives by. Nearly 43% of motorcycle accidents occur daily between 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with many vehicles unable to spot motorcyclists in time. With LitGear, it allows you to be “lit” up to .25 miles away with LED lights that last up to 12 hours.
LitGear is available in leather or textile, with the option to add your own customizations. The leather material is available as a jacket or vest and is made of top-grain cowhide. The textile jacket is made of quality Cordura material and is 100% waterproof.
Both jackets and vests come in a variety of colors to choose from. With the LitGear patented LED Safety Light Kit, customers may customize an already owned jacket – converting it to the same technology as LitGear’s apparel.
