Walking into Resorts World for my first AEE expo, I was immediately struck by the sheer scale of the event. The luxury resort’s convention space buzzed with an energy that was part comic-con, part trade show, and completely unique to the adult industry. As a new model who’s primarily worked in the digital space, this was my chance to experience the industry in its full, vibrant reality.
The first thing that surprised me was how professional everything felt. Behind the glitter and glamour, this is very much a business convention. Companies showcased new technology, production houses discussed content trends, and there were serious conversations about digital rights management and online platforms. It wasn’t all just autograph signings and photo ops – though there were plenty of those too.

Speaking of autographs, I nearly fainted when I got to meet Tera Patrick. She has this incredible presence that just commands attention. After following her career for years, it was surreal to actually chat with her in person. She was incredibly gracious, sharing stories about how the industry has evolved since her early days and giving me practical advice about longevity in the business.
The networking opportunities were incredible. I connected with performers I’d only known through social media, met with studio representatives, and had fascinating conversations with sex educators and industry advocates. There were workshops covering everything from financial management to personal branding, proving that success in this industry requires much more than just looking good on camera.
The expo floor itself was a feast for the senses. The elegant surroundings of Resorts World added an extra layer of sophistication to the event. Rows of booths showcased everything from traditional studios to cutting-edge tech companies. The innovation in our industry is mind-blowing – from advanced camera equipment to new platforms for content creators. I spent hours exploring the various exhibits, collecting business cards, and learning about new opportunities for collaboration.
What really stood out was the sense of community. Despite what outsiders might think, there’s a strong support network here. Veteran performers freely shared advice with newcomers like me. Companies discussed ways to make the industry safer and more inclusive. There were serious conversations about consent, worker rights, and combating stigma.

The fashion was another highlight. The expo floor looked like a runway show, with performers and attendees bringing their A-game. I saw everything from classic glamour to avant-garde costumes. It’s clear that personal branding and image are huge parts of success in this industry, and everyone understood the assignment.

The evening events were just as impressive as the daytime programming. Having everything under one roof at Resorts World made it easy to transition from the expo floor to networking events. The parties weren’t just about celebrating – they were valuable networking opportunities where deals were made and partnerships formed. The awards ceremony itself was a testament to how far the industry has come, celebrating excellence not just in performance but in production, innovation, and business development.

One of the most valuable aspects of attending was getting a better understanding of where the industry is headed. The rise of independent content creation has changed the game, but traditional studios are adapting and evolving. There were fascinating panels about the intersection of adult content and emerging technologies, discussions about regulatory challenges, and debates about the future of content distribution.
As a first-timer, I was impressed by the professionalism and organization of the entire event. Security was tight, regulations were strictly enforced, and there was zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior. This wasn’t just a wild party – it was a serious business convention for an industry that generates billions in revenue.
Looking back on my first AVN experience, I feel more connected to the industry than ever. The contacts I made, the knowledge I gained, and the inspiration I found will surely shape my career going forward. While some might dismiss adult entertainment, attending AEE showed me that this is a professional industry filled with talented, hardworking individuals who take their craft seriously.
For anyone considering attending their first AEE expo, my advice is simple: come prepared to learn, network, and work hard. Yes, it’s fun and exciting, but it’s also an invaluable opportunity to grow your brand and career. I already can’t wait for next year’s event at The Virgin Resort and Casino.
